Department of Nutrition and Dietetics; Establishing an adequate and balanced diet necessary for the protection, improvement and development of the health of the society throughout life and for the individual to live a quality life, providing solutions to improve the nutritional level by determining the current nutritional status of the society, determining the nutritional needs specific to different age, gender and patient groups and providing appropriate nutrition. will carry out scientific studies in various fields such as regulating dietary patterns, ensuring the management and organization of food service in institutions providing mass nutrition services, determining and directing the country's food and nutrition plans and policies; It aims to train the manpower that will ensure adequate and balanced nutrition awareness in society.
The first phase of the education and training program given in the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics includes basic sciences, medicine and nutritional sciences, which are the basis of Dietetic practices. The courses in the second stage are directly related to the field of application. In addition to theoretical teaching and laboratory experiments in the classroom, the student carries out his/her applications related to public health and nutrition in hospitals and institutions providing mass catering services.
A dietitian is a health professional who is entitled to practice and practice this profession by successfully completing the nutrition and dietetics education and training program and receiving a "Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition and Dietetics".
